An employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs killed a pedestrian and fled the scene of the accident in the Kursk region.

In the Kursk region, a driver was detained who hit pedestrians and fled the scene. This was reported by the regional police on June 4.

"As a result of operational search measures, the attacker was detained by employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate," the department's Telegram channel says.

It is reported that the driver ran over citizens walking along the roadway at night. As a result of the accident, one of the men died on the spot from his injuries, the other was taken to the hospital with multiple bruises.

Later, law enforcement officers established that the driver of the car was an employee of the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Timsky district of the Kursk region.

An internal audit was ordered on the fact of the incident, and the violator will be fired.
