- The Ministry of Internal Affairs announced the launch of a project to block websites that steal personal data.

A pilot project is being launched in Russia to quickly identify and block fake websites and applications created to steal confidential information from citizens. On June 4, the Department for the Organization of the fight against the illegal use of information and communication technologies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation informed about this.
"An important pilot project is launching today — a new system for the instant detection and blocking of fake websites and applications that steal usernames, passwords, personal and payment data of citizens," the department's Telegram channel says.
According to the UBK of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the project will operate in test mode until March 1, 2026. Its goals are to create an effective measure to protect users from online fraud and to work out the interaction of agencies specializing in this area and the Internet infrastructure. It is also planned to prepare legislative decisions to consolidate the practices.
"The pilot is part of national cybersecurity and digital transformation programs aimed at improving the security of citizens on the Internet," the ministry added.
On June 3, it was reported that scammers began actively using the names of popular marketplaces to deceive users. So, in May 2025, Mail blocked a record 15 million emails that were sent out under the guise of holding sweepstakes from well-known trading platforms.
