The court sentenced a former drug control officer to 13 years in prison for the murder of his friend 11 years ago. This was reported on June 4 in the press service of the Prosecutor's office of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

According to the investigation, in 2014, at that time, a 36-year-old employee of the Norilsk State Drug Control was in need of money, and his girlfriend provided him with financial support.

Soon, the woman decided to tell her friend that she wanted to end the relationship. When the defendant was in the apartment of a "friend", a conflict arose between them. Knowing where she keeps her savings and jewelry, the man took possession of them, and killed the landlady.

As noted in the department, after 11 years, law enforcement agencies managed to identify the perpetrator. The man pleaded not guilty and denied acquaintance with the deceased in court. However, evidence incriminating his guilt was presented during the meeting.

"The court <...> found the man guilty of murder (paragraph "h" of part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code), robbery (paragraph "c" of part 4 of Article 162 of the Criminal Code) and sentenced him to 13 years in prison to be served in a high—security penal colony," the Telegram channel of the regional prosecutor's office said.

It is specified that the man was deprived of the title and privileges of a pensioner of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

In May, bags with the dismembered body of a man were found in the northeast of Moscow. Later, the murder suspect confessed. He said that he had struck 15 blows with an axe to an acquaintance from whom he rented a room in order to seize his property.
