About 3 thousand species of animals live in the green areas of the capital.

In Moscow, about 3 thousand species of animals, including those listed in the Red Book, live in the natural territories of the city. This was announced on June 4 on the official website of the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.
So, in the Severnoye Tushino Park you can see a weasel, a hedgehog, a field mouse and a muskrat, and less often — a marten and a hare.
In addition, such representatives of the animal world live in the territories of Izmailovo, Kuzminki-Lyublino, Moskvoretsky parks, and even foxes are found in Tushinsky Park, Fili Park, and Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve.
Many birds live in the Moskvoretsky Nature and Historical Park, for example, the crested blackbird, chomga, and coot, which are rare breeding species listed in the Red Book. In addition, the yellow is found in Tsaritsyno and Tushinsky, the largest woodpecker in the Moscow territories.
At the same time, pigeons, sparrows, ducks, chickadees, as well as rare owls, titmice, and grouse hawks live in the Kuzminki-Lyublino Nature Reserve.
On June 1, it was reported that migratory swifts, nightingales and swallows returned to Moscow. According to experts, the nightingale can be heard not only in parks and near reservoirs, but also in urban areas, for example, in lilac bushes in the courtyard. You can see it by its brown plumage and reddish tail.
