The United States does not expect that the negotiation process to resolve the Ukrainian conflict will last for months or years. This was announced on July 3 by the official representative of the US State Department, Tammy Bruce.

"There is an obligation to prevent this from going on for months or for meetings to be held for the sake of meetings. This will not last a year," she said during a conversation with reporters.

She added that US President Donald Trump and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio need "results and deadlines."

White House Spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt said on the same day that the direct talks between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul demonstrate how far the peace process has progressed in recent months. In her opinion, the meeting of the Russian and Ukrainian delegations in Istanbul on June 2 took place thanks to Trump's perseverance and determination.
