Shoigu arrived in Pyongyang to meet with Kim Jong-un on Putin's instructions

Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu flew to Pyongyang on June 4 to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
This trip to North Korea was Shoigu's second in less than three months.
"[It is expected] to discuss the implementation of some points of the comprehensive strategic partnership agreement between the Russian Federation and the DPRK, as well as perpetuating the memory of the Korean fighters who helped liberate the Kursk region," the press service of the Security Council quoted TASS as saying.
In addition, the parties also plan to discuss issues on the international agenda, including the conflict in Ukraine.
The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on May 27 that a delegation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of the Russian Federation, led by Deputy Minister Vitaly Shulika, arrived in the capital of the DPRK, Pyongyang.
