The Prosecutor's office has launched an investigation into the fire on the Iceberg ship in the Sea of Japan.

The prosecutor's office began checking on the fact of a fire on the fishing schooner Iceberg in the Sea of Japan, the ship was sailing from Primorye to South Korea. This was reported on June 4 in the press service of the Far Eastern Transport Prosecutor's office.

"The Sakhalin Transport Prosecutor's Office has organized an inspection of the implementation of legislation on the safety of navigation," the agency said in a Telegram channel message.

The prosecutor's office clarified that there were no casualties as a result of the incident.

Nikolai Pirozhkov, head of the Vladivostok Maritime Rescue Coordination Center, told Izvestia that a fire had broken out on the Iceberg fishing schooner in the Sea of Japan 250 miles (402 km) south of Vladivostok. According to him, the crew of 17 Russians left the ship on two rafts.
