The fire occurred on the Iceberg fishing vessel in the Sea of Japan


A fire broke out on the Iceberg fishing schooner in the Sea of Japan 250 miles (402 km) south of Vladivostok. This was announced to Izvestia on June 4 by Nikolai Pirozhkov, head of the Vladivostok Maritime Rescue Coordination Center.
"This morning at 06:40 local time (23:40 Moscow time. In the Sea of Japan, 250 nautical miles south of Vladivostok, a fire broke out on the Iceberg fishing schooner, the port of registration is Korsakov, the shipowner is DV-Fleet LLC," he said.
According to Pirozhkov, the crew of 17 Russians left the ship on two rafts. The transport refrigerator "Island of Jonah" approached the emergency vessel and rescued all the crew members.
He added that all the rescued crew members were unharmed and did not need medical attention. The owner of the Iceberg vessel decides whether to tow the schooner to the port.
On April 1, a boat carrying tourists from Russia and Kazakhstan caught fire near Maiton Island in Phuket Province in southern Thailand, injuring four Russian tourists. According to MGR online, the cause of the fire was engine failure.
