The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) strikes in southern Syria have caused significant casualties and destruction. This was announced on June 4 by the press service of the Syrian Foreign Ministry.

"The Office strongly condemned the Israeli bombing of villages and towns in Deraa, which resulted in heavy loss of life and material damage," the press service said in a statement released by the SANA news agency.

In addition, the Foreign Ministry noted that the Syrian authorities have not confirmed their involvement in the shelling of Israeli territory.

"Syria has not and will not pose a threat to any of the parties in the region. The main priority in the south of the country is the restoration of state power and the elimination of the illegal armed presence," the statement said.

In addition, the press service called on the international community to intervene to stop the shelling and restore security in Syria.

The IDF press service reported on June 3 that gunners had struck southern Syria in response to the launch of two shells at northern Israel. According to the Israeli army, experts have discovered two rockets that were launched from Syria in the areas of Ramat Magshimim and Haspin.
