Kuwait has signed a contract for the construction of corvettes for $ 2.45 billion

Kuwait's Ministry of Defense has signed the largest naval contract worth $2.45 billion with the Emirati company EDGE Group for the construction of Falaj3-type corvettes. This was announced on June 3 in the press service of the corporation.

This contract includes the design, construction and testing of new ships of the Navy, as well as the repair and modernization of old ones. In addition, as part of the cooperation, the company will provide in-depth staff training for work.

"This agreement with Kuwait is of great importance both in terms of scale and strategic importance," said EDGE CEO Hamad Al Marar.

The 62 m Falaj3 missile corvettes are also supplied by EDGE Group to the AOE Navy. The first vessel entered service in February of this year. It provides high performance and has advanced combat systems for coastal defense.
