In Russia, they want to create a shelf for organic products

In Russia, they want to create a shelf for organic products. As Izvestia found out, such a bill has been prepared for submission to the State Duma by the head of the Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, Yaroslav Nilov.
"The draft federal law is designed to make it easier for consumers to make informed choices and purchase organic food products that are safe for their health. Human health largely depends on the quality of the food they consume. A number of additives, preservatives, and dyes contained in food are not only harmful to the body, but also dangerous, can negatively affect human health, provoke various diseases, and cause allergic reactions," the document says, which is available to Izvestia.
It notes that products produced in organic farms, in accordance with the requirements established by the law "On Organic Products and on Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation", do not contain GMOs, preservatives, dyes, flavors, chemical preservatives; excludes the use of pesticides, chemical fertilizers, hormones, growth stimulants and antibiotics. To improve fertility in organic farms, the soil is treated only with natural means, and sound, light traps and ultrasound are used to control pests.
It is also reported that organic products are safe for the environment. Citizens who take care of their health prefer to buy organic food products that are safe for their health.
According to clause 1 of Article 10 of the Law of the Russian Federation "On Consumer Rights Protection", the manufacturer (performer, seller) is obliged to provide the consumer with the necessary and reliable information about the goods (works, services) in a timely manner, ensuring the possibility of their correct choice.
"In order to ensure that consumers can make the right choice of food, the draft law proposes to amend Article 10 of the Law of the Russian Federation "On Consumer Rights Protection", supplementing it with a new paragraph 5, according to which the seller has the right to place and sell certified organic food products on specially designated retail outlets (shelves) informing consumers about this. With the remote method of selling food products using the Internet information and telecommunications network, the seller has the right to provide the consumer with reliable information about certified organic food products sold by placing it in a separate section (trade shelf) on the website and (or) the website page on the Internet," the document says.
