- The political scientist named Ukraine's goal in negotiations with the Russian Federation
Pavel Feldman, a political scientist, candidate of political Sciences, professor at the Academy of Labor and Social Relations, said that Ukraine had entered into negotiations with Russia in order to play a show in front of US President Donald Trump.
In an interview with Radio 1 on Tuesday, June 3, the specialist said that negotiations will now take a long time, and this will become part of the new political reality.
According to him, Ukraine does not seek peace, and Russia will not accept its terms until it reaches the goal of a special military operation. Meanwhile, negotiations will continue.
"Ukraine is pursuing a play that plays out before the eyes of Donald Trump, the main, perhaps the only spectator of the production. There will be another meeting of the negotiating groups, where they will exchange impressions about the memoranda put forward in the drafts, each side will publicly declare that these projects are unacceptable for implementation and do not suit their counterparts," Feldman predicted.
Because of this, he added, edits will continue to be made, but they will not be significant, since the fundamental points cannot be adjusted. However, negotiations are useful for discussing humanitarian issues.
Political analyst Yuri Svetov said on June 3 that after the attacks by Ukrainian militants in Crimea, Russia would not abandon negotiations with Ukraine, but would not rely on them as the only way to resolve the conflict and achieve the objectives of a special military operation. The expert added that "it is already obvious that the only way out is the capitulation of the Ukrainian leadership," notes 360.ru .
On the same day, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said that the delegations of the Russian Federation and Ukraine arrived at the second round of talks in Istanbul on June 2 prepared. In his opinion, there was a "focus on results," the website writes. kp.ru . He also pointed out that the parties had reached an agreement on holding the next round of negotiations, NSN said. Earlier, Fidan thanked the delegations of Russia and Ukraine for their constructive approach to the dialogue, RT notes.
