Zelensky appointed the retired head of the army to a new post

Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky appointed Mikhail Drapaty, Commander-in-chief of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), commander of the country's joint forces. The decree was published on the website of the head of state on June 3.
"Appoint Mikhail Vasilyevich Drapaty as commander of the joint forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the document says.
As Zelensky explained, the military commander will focus exclusively on combat issues.
"Drapaty has been appointed commander of the united forces to deal with the front 100%," the Telegram channel of the Public television channel quoted him as saying.
Before his appointment, Zelensky personally met with the military, who resigned on June 1 after the attack on the 239th training ground of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Drapaty stated that he was responsible for what happened, after which the Ukrainian leader suggested that he focus on the front.
On June 1, Drapaty announced his decision to resign after a strike on a training unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which killed 12 soldiers. He added that this was a deliberate step dictated by his personal sense of responsibility. Drapaty noted that "mutual responsibility and impunity" remain in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, despite the fact that he allegedly tried to fight this.
On the same day, the ground forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced that a missile strike had been launched at the location of their training unit. 12 people were reported dead and more than 60 injured. The Russian Defense Ministry did not comment on this information.
