Conservative candidate Kim Moon-soo concedes defeat in South Korean elections


Kim Moon-soo, the South Korean presidential candidate from the conservative People's Power Party, has admitted defeat in the country's elections. This was reported on June 3 by the Yonhap news agency.
"I humbly accept the people's choice," said Kim Moon-soo.
He also thanked his supporters and party members for their trust and support.
"Congratulations to [the Democratic candidate] Happy election to Lee Jae-myung," the politician concluded.
Early presidential elections in South Korea were called after the country's constitutional court approved the impeachment of President Yoon Seok-yeol. Then Han Dok-soo was declared acting head of state.
The voting took place earlier in the day. According to its results, the former head of the opposition Democratic Party "Toburo" Lee Jae-myung is in the lead. He is gaining 48.43% according to the results of counting 90.2% of the votes.
