A teenager in Ugra set fire to four cars on the instructions of scammers


A sixteen-year—old resident of the city of Nefteyugansk, Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Yugra, set fire to four cars on the instructions of telephone scammers. This was announced on June 3 by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.
"An unknown person called the young man, who introduced herself as the head of his school, and asked him to send a passport photo. Next, the messenger received a call from an alleged law enforcement officer. The caller assured the teenager that due to the hacking of the account on the Unified Portal of State and Municipal Services, it was necessary to transfer funds to a "secure account," Wolf wrote on her Telegram channel.
According to the Interior Ministry, the young man first transferred 200 thousand rubles to the scammers, and then received the task to set fire to vehicles with patriotic symbols. He purchased a flammable liquid and set the cars on fire.
Three cars were seriously damaged, and the fourth was saved. The conducted examinations confirmed the deliberate arson. The teenager was given a preventive measure in the form of a written undertaking not to leave.
On May 30, it was reported that the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) had detained six people in three regions of the Russian Federation who, on instructions from the Ukrainian special services, had set fire to transport infrastructure and decorations by May 9. The detainees, born in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2010, said that under the influence of telephone fraudsters, they transferred from 100,000 to 1 million rubles to "secure accounts".
