King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands accepted the resignation of ministers from the Freedom Party, which withdrew from the ruling coalition, and asked the remaining members of the cabinet to continue their work. This was reported on June 3 by the newspaper De Telegraaf.

"The King, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, granted immediate dismissal to ministers and state secretaries nominated to the cabinet by the Freedom Party (PVV)," the article says.

It is noted that the duties of ministers and four state secretaries from the Freedom Party will be transferred to other members of the Cabinet. The Prime Minister and ministers from other parties retained their posts.

Earlier in the day, Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schof announced after a meeting of the Council of Ministers that the Dutch government was resigning following the withdrawal of the far-right Freedom Party (PVV) from the ruling coalition. He noted that with the departure of the PVV, the lower house of parliament no longer has sufficient support for the government.
