Assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan Seyed Tariq Fatemi at a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Moscow handed over a letter from the head of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Islamic Republic of Shahbaz Sharif for Russian Leader Vladimir Putin. This was reported to TASS by the Embassy of Pakistan on June 3.

"The Special Assistant handed over a letter from Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif addressed to President Vladimir Putin," the diplomatic mission said.

As reported by Gazeta.At the meeting with Lavrov, Fatemi also expressed the desire of the Pakistani leadership to expand bilateral cooperation with Russia on a wide range of issues. In addition, the Assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan also informed the Russian side about the situation in South Asia and stressed the danger of escalation of relations with India.

At the meeting with Fatemi, Lavrov, in turn, noted the need for direct dialogue between New Delhi and Islamabad. The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that during the meeting they also discussed increasing efforts to combat terrorism.
