On June 3, Russian songwriter Ilya Reznik, in an interview with Izvestia, noted composer Evgeny Doga's unique contribution to musical history.

"He was a great composer. The waltz that he wrote (from the movie "My affectionate and gentle Beast" — Ed.) is unique, and it will remain in history, in the musical history of our fatherland. And not only this waltz, because it has done a lot for our people, for the hearts of our people," said Reznik.

According to him, he recently visited Doga's apartment on Rublevka and was struck by her modesty. In addition, Reznik dedicated one of his poems to the departed Doga.

"Let's take care of our geniuses," concluded the songwriter.

The death of the People's Artist of the USSR and Moldova, the world-famous composer Evgeny Doga became known earlier that day. During his life, Doga wrote operas, symphonies, as well as music for theater and cinema. The composer collaborated with leading directors, including Emil Loteanu and Sergey Paradjanov.
