Colombian man tried to transport cocaine to Russia inside a DJ console

Colombian Munoz Ramirez Carlos Alberto, known in Russia as Carlos, accused of sending and smuggling drugs on an especially large scale, hoped to transport cocaine hidden in a DJ console and metal springs to Russia. This is stated in the case materials reviewed by Izvestia.
According to investigators, in July 2016, Carlos led an organized group of four people. The drug dealer and his accomplices smuggled cocaine from Colombia and the Republic of Paraguay with a total weight of more than 3.2 kg to Russia. Mailings with narcotic substances were found at Sheremetyevo and Vnukovo airports.
The cargo from Colombia was in a cardboard box. The substance was hidden in metal springs lying along with the service brakes of diesel engines. The shipment from Paraguay contained microphones, a keyboard piano, and a DJ remote control—the cocaine was hidden inside it.
In November 2017, Carlos was put on the international wanted list, and soon he was detained by Colombian law enforcement officers. In December 2024, the drug dealer was extradited to Russia.
On April 29, the court extended the preventive measure for Carlos until October 13. He admitted his guilt, but refused to testify.
