Children playing in the contact fountain in Tomarovka, Belgorod region, had previously complained of "pinching" from the water. Konstantin Kozmin, the father of the deceased girl, told Izvestia about this on June 3.

"The fountains were launched recently. The kids were running around there. Even the teachers came today, they said that many complained that he (the fountain. — Ed.) already pinched. But pinching was pinching, and here there was a direct electric shock, and a very strong one," he said, expressing the hope that all those responsible would be punished.

According to the man, a couple of minutes before the tragedy, 13-year-old Margarita called her parents and told them that she was playing with a friend. The autopsy results showed that the schoolgirl died due to electric shock.

Kozmin said he had already asked Vyacheslav Gladkov, the governor of the region, for help, asking him to close all contact fountains for inspection and take the investigation under personal control.

The death of a 13-year-old girl in the Belgorod region while playing in a contact fountain became known earlier that day. The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia for the region reported that a criminal case had been opened into the provision of services that did not meet safety requirements.

In Tomarovka, next to the fountain, local residents organized a spontaneous memorial in memory of the deceased girl. They bring chocolates, toys, and flowers to the scene.
