The Dutch Government is resigning

The Dutch government is resigning following the withdrawal of the far-right Freedom Party (PVV) from the ruling coalition. This was announced on June 3 by Prime Minister Dick Schof after a meeting of the Council of Ministers.
He noted that with the departure of the PVV, the lower house of parliament no longer has sufficient support for the government. The prime minister added that he intends to go to King Willem-Alexander to ask for the resignation of the PVV ministers.
"The rest of the government will continue to serve as interim," Schof added at the meeting, which was broadcast on the Cabinet's page on the social network X (former. Twitter).
As noted by the Reuters news agency, Schof is likely to call new parliamentary elections, which will be held no earlier than mid-October.
Earlier in the day, Wilders announced that his party was withdrawing from the ruling coalition amid disagreements over migration policy. As noted by Reuters, Wilders' decision will increase uncertainty in the economy and postpone a decision on a possible increase in defense spending to achieve new NATO goals.
