- The cosmetologist told about the rules of moisturizing the skin in the spring and summer period

With the onset of the warm season, many people face the problem of dry and dehydrated skin. This is especially true for residents of large cities with dry air and high dust loads. On June 4, Maria Monaenkova, a dermatologist and cosmetologist at the Semeynaya Clinic, explained to Izvestia how to recognize signs of a lack of moisture and effectively restore the skin.
According to the expert, the main symptoms of dehydration are a feeling of tightness after washing, peeling, hypersensitivity to cosmetics, as well as the appearance of fine wrinkles and a dull complexion.
"In spring and summer, the skin is exposed to several stressful factors at once: ultraviolet rays, sudden changes in the weather (cool room, heat outside, windy weather), the operation of the air conditioner," explains Monaenkova.
These factors, according to the expert, can lead to a violation of the hydrolipidic mantle of the skin, and it begins to lose moisture faster than it manages to replenish it. This is especially true for residents of large cities with dry air and high dust loads.
The cosmetologist calls the course of biorevitalization the most effective method of combating dry skin. According to her, injections of hyaluronic acid not only instantly moisturize the skin, but also stimulate the production of its own collagen and elastin. Three to four procedures are recommended with an interval of two to three weeks, followed by supportive sessions every two to three months," the expert advises.
However, as Monachenkova emphasizes, without proper home care, the effect of professional procedures will be short-lived. The doctor recommends using serums with hyaluronic acid, panthenol and ceramides, choosing mild cleansers without aggressive surfactants and be sure to use creams with SPF protection of at least 30.
Additionally, the cosmetologist advises to undergo intensive care procedures on professional cosmeceuticals once every two weeks.
"Individually selected formulations help restore the barrier functions of the skin and provide antioxidant protection, which is especially important in an urban environment," concludes the specialist.
Earlier, on April 16, Natalia Mikhailova, a cosmetologist and creator of the MESALTERA by Dr. Mikhaylova brand of professional cosmeceuticals, told Izvestia that mild cleansers should be used in the warm season — foams, gels or mousses with the addition of acids or enzymes.
