Russia's memorandum on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine is aimed at eliminating its root causes. This was announced by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov at a briefing on June 3.

According to him, the issue of settlement is extremely complex, it has a lot of nuances. The draft document published the day before contains many provisions, and it also has a polyvariance, Peskov stressed.

"Everything is aimed at getting rid of the root causes of this conflict and moving towards a sustainable settlement," the Kremlin spokesman said.

He also noted the importance of the recent talks between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul. At the same time, Peskov added that it would be wrong to expect "short-term solutions and breakthroughs."

Moscow has offered Kiev an exchange of prisoners and bodies of dead soldiers.

The second round of negotiations between Moscow and Kiev took place on June 2. On the same day, it became known that the memorandum of the Russian side on the settlement of the conflict includes 31 points, including options for a possible ceasefire.
