- The political scientist called Trump's participation in the negotiations on Ukraine beneficial for Russia

The participation of US President Donald Trump in the negotiation process on Ukraine is a more beneficial option for Russia, as it pushes Kiev towards dialogue. This is the opinion of a political scientist, advisor to the director of the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies (RISS) Ilya Kravchenko spoke on Tuesday, June 3.
"So far, we see that he is interested in speeding up these negotiation processes, and therefore, at the moment, this is a more profitable option for us," Kravchenko said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .
He recalled that Washington's mediation in the Ukrainian settlement had an impact on Kiev and prompted the start of a dialogue and the restoration of ties. Trump is interested in at least some kind of normalization of relations between Russia and Ukraine, because this will become his personal political asset, Kravchenko believes.
"The role of the Trump administration is significant in the context of how to push Kiev to restore dialogue with Moscow," the expert said.
Earlier in the day, U.S. Ambassador to Turkey Thomas Barrack said that Trump had reached the "end of his patience" regarding the conflict in Ukraine.
The ambassador also noted that the Turkish side plays a key role in the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict, is an important mediator in establishing a dialogue between Moscow and Kiev, according to the website. kp.ru .
The New York Times reported on May 26 that the American leader had shown his intention to distance himself from participating in the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine, RT reports. Prior to this, Forbes politician and editor-in-chief Steve Forbes said that if Trump withdraws from the negotiation process between Moscow and Kiev, it would mean Ukraine's surrender.
