Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded the title of Hero of Labor of the Russian Federation to writer and editor-in-chief of the newspaper-weekly "Tomorrow" Alexander Prokhanov. The relevant decree of the head of state was published on the official Internet portal of legal information on June 3.

"For special services in the development of Russian culture and literature," the document says.

Soviet and Russian writer, screenwriter, journalist and public figure Alexander Prokhanov is 87 years old. He is the author of the novels "Noon Time", "There in Afghanistan", "Mr. Hexogen", "The ship "Joseph Brodsky" and others. Since 1993, Prokhanov has been the head of the editorial board of the newspaper "Tomorrow".

Also on June 3, Putin awarded the title Hero of Russia to priest Anton Savchenko, who died in a special military operation (SVO) zone while performing pastoral duties.
