The Russian House in Berlin will continue to operate, despite politically motivated attempts to discredit its activities, in particular, by Bundestag deputy Roderich Kiesewetter. This was announced to Izvestia on June 3 by the director of the institution Pavel Izvolsky.

"Our mission is to preserve cultural bridges, to achieve mutual understanding and trust between people. We will continue to follow this path, despite opportunistic, politically motivated attempts to discredit our activities," he said.

According to Izvolsky, Kiesewetter has no real idea about the activities of the Russian House.

"Apparently, he is not even trying to objectively consider the issue, but at the same time he is voicing conclusions that are not based on anything. Such statements are aimed only at inciting hostility, hatred and distrust," concluded the director of the institution.

Earlier in the day, Kiesewetter called for the expulsion of Russian diplomats and the closure of the Russian House in Berlin. Motivating his proposal, the politician stated about the alleged "significant increase in the threat of cyber attacks from state-controlled entities."
