The youth wing of the Moldovan opposition bloc Pobeda held a protest outside the building of the Representative Office of the European Union (EU) in Chisinau, directed against LGBT propaganda (the movement is banned in the Russian Federation and recognized as extremist). Footage from the scene of the June 3 events is published by Izvestia.

Dozens of boys and girls took part in the rally. On the posters in their hands were slogans in support of the traditional form of the family. Other signs read: "LGBT train station – Brussels."

"This is our citizenship, the citizenship of our country, and we will fight for our country to the last," said one of the protesters.

In May, several non–governmental organizations in Moldova, as well as the EU diplomatic mission in the country, took the initiative to hold an LGBT parade in Chisinau on June 15. The City Council and the mayor of the capital Ion Ceban banned the event. However, their decision has no legal force, since only a judicial instance can veto a public action.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on May 29 that for Russia, genuine family values always remain immutable, no matter how anyone tries to challenge or abolish them in the modern world. As the head of state noted, it is the family with children, their interests and well-being that are at the center of all decisions and projects related to national development.
