Russian President Vladimir Putin held a working meeting with Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology Alexander Kozlov. This was announced on Tuesday, June 3, by the Kremlin's press service.

"They discussed, in particular, plans to adapt forestry to climate change, work with municipal waste, reduce hazardous emissions into the air and build sewage treatment plants," the Kremlin's Telegram channel said.

According to Kozlov, this year, for the first time, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology conducted reports on the implementation of forest adaptation plans throughout Russia, taking into account changes in the climate agenda, in order to quickly respond to climate change in the regions.

The President, in turn, stressed that there is nothing more important than natural resources and ecology.

Dmitry Patrushev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, said on May 23 that Russia ranks first in the world in terms of forest area and second in terms of freshwater reserves. He also drew attention to the need for a responsible approach to the international community in preserving the appropriate reserves of natural resources in the required volume and quality.
