On June 2, the closing ceremony of the Second Festival of Young Cinema "New Movement" took place

On June 2, 2025, the closing ceremony of the Second Festival of Young Cinema "New Movement" was held at the Novgorod Regional Philharmonic named after A.S. Arensky. The main prize of the festival was awarded to the film "The Habit of Sniffing Fingers" directed by Vyacheslav Ivanov.

Star guests, festival participants and honorary cinematographers walked the traditional red carpet, including Artyom Mikhalkov, Maxim Korolev, Daria Ursulyak, Daniil Vorobyov, Alexandra Revenko, Alexey Mizgirev, Sabina Yeremeyeva, Yulia Khlynina, Egor Peregudov, Anna Nevskaya, Daniil Fomichev, Sabina Akhmedova, Maxim Kostromykin, Ksenia Surkova, Danila Krasnov, Ekaterina Channova, Pavel Vashchekin, Stasia Tolstaya and others. Stylists from the Mone salon chain were responsible for the images on the red carpet.

The visual concept of the festival and the closing ceremony was developed by contemporary artist Gleb Solntsev. The musical director of the ceremony was Iskander Khannanov. DJ Tony was also responsible for the musical accompaniment, and dancer Vladimir Smoke performed an original number during the presentation of the competition films at the beginning of the ceremony.

This year, 8 films participated in the main competition program: "Sometimes we are Travelers" (directed by Daniil Prasolov), "Fixed Stars" (directed by Daniel Prasolov). Ivan Kurbakov), "My boyfriend, the mannequin" (directed by Dmitry Nikolenko), "Northern Station" (directed by Sergey Ovechko), "In the Mountains. She" (dir. Said Tolgurov), "Field of Miracles" (dir. Anna Sichinskaya), "The Habit of sniffing fingers" (dir. Vyacheslav Ivanov), "Perfect Silence" (dir. Slava Fedorov). The jury of the festival included producer Sabina Yeremeyeva, cameraman Daniil Fomichev, actor Daniil Vorobyov and actress Alexandra Revenko. The chairman is director Alexey Mizgirev.

The ceremony was hosted by theater and film actress Daria Ursulyak, who noted that the closing theme was "The New Movement" in all its manifestations.

The first was awarded a special prize by the festival's partner, the film distribution company Atmosphere Cinema, which selected the winner among the participants in the competition program.

The winner was the film "My Boyfriend, the mannequin" directed by Dmitry Nikolenko.

The film "Sometimes we are Travelers" directed by Daniil Prasolov was awarded a Special mention by the jury "For the sound adaptation of monumental silence".

The prize "For the best visual solution" was presented by a member of the jury, cinematographer Daniil Fomichev, noting that this work made a strong impression on him and caused various emotions. Nikita Lychev became the winner for his cinematography in the film "Fixed Stars".

The winner in the "Best Director" nomination was announced by producer Sabina Yeremeyeva. When presenting the award, she thanked all the participants of the festival and especially noted the winner, who knows how not only to tell stories, build mise—en-scenes, work with actors and art space, but also, most importantly, is not afraid of sharp and intriguing topics.

The prize was awarded to Sergey Ovechko for the film "North Station". In his acceptance speech, he noted the contribution of the entire team, emphasizing that the film could not have been created without the talent and efforts of each participant in the filming process.

The main prize of the festival was announced by the chairman of the jury, director and screenwriter Alexey Mizgirev. He called this ceremony one of the best, noting the lively, young energy of the festival: "It is very right that the New Movement takes place here. The place here is Phoenix, where something new is always born."

The main award went to the film "The Habit of Sniffing Fingers" directed by Vyacheslav Ivanov. The director was deeply touched by this award that he could not contain his emotions.
