The number of people bitten by ticks has decreased in the Tula region

In the Tula region, 779 cases of tick attacks on humans have been registered since March 2025. Among the victims of insect bites, 233 are children. This year's figures were 1.5% less than in 2024. These are the data from Rospotrebnadzor.

According to TSN24, referring to the sanitary authorities, 154 people have applied to hospitals in the region over the past week. During the same time period last year, the number of people who applied to medical institutions was slightly higher, 161 people.

Ticks are most often bitten on house plots and in gardening associations. Since the beginning of the season, six cases of ixodes tick-borne borreliosis have been identified. This is higher than last year's figure. According to research, 14.6% of ticks are infected with borrelia, 8.1% with anaplasma.

This year, specialists have to process 1.2 thousand hectares of territories, including children's camps. Currently, about 553 hectares have been cultivated.

At the end of May, it was reported that in the Sverdlovsk region, since the beginning of the season, 14.5 thousand people have applied for medical help in connection with tick suction. This year, 1.4 times more people were affected by ticks than in the same period in 2024. However, the indicator is at the level of the long-term average.
