The Kremlin announced the continuation of work on a peaceful settlement in Ukraine.
Work on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine continues after certain agreements were reached at the talks held in Istanbul. This was announced on June 3 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
"The issue of settlement is extremely complex. It consists of a large number of nuances. And you saw yesterday the published text of the draft memorandum that we handed over to the Ukrainian side," he stressed.
Peskov noted that Russia's main goal is to get rid of the root causes of the Ukrainian conflict and achieve a sustainable peaceful settlement. He added that the talks held in Istanbul are important, but it would be wrong to expect "any short-term solutions and breakthroughs."
The Kremlin's official representative also said that Russian President Vladimir Putin has no scheduled telephone talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the near future.
On June 2, the second round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine took place.
At the same time, it became known that Russia's memorandum on the settlement of the conflict includes 31 points, including options for a possible cease-fire.
