Since the beginning of 2025, eight people have been infected with tick-borne borreliosis in Crimea and Sevastopol. In addition, one person was diagnosed with encephalitis.

The number of visits to doctors with pest bites does not exceed the long-term average. Most often, tick attacks occurred in forests and park areas. According to the results of virological studies, 8.3% of pests are infected with bolleliosis, 1.7% of ticks carry granulocytic anaplasmosis, and another 1.4% have monocytic ehrlichiosis. This is reported by IA SevastopolMedia.

Rospotrebnadzor notes that there are usually two peaks of tick activity on the peninsula — from May to June and from August to September. Depending on the weather conditions, the first bites can be recorded from January. Since March, acaricide treatment has been carried out in the territories of municipalities with an area of over 2 thousand hectares. In addition, 11 routes and recreation areas with an area of over 5.1 thousand hectares have been processed.

Since the beginning of the season, more than 14.5 thousand people have suffered from tick bites in the Sverdlovsk region. Pest activity increased 1.4 times.
