Roderich Kiesewetter, deputy chairman of the Bundestag committee for the control of special services, a member of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), proposed expelling Russian diplomats from Germany, as well as closing the Russian House in Berlin. He stated this in an interview with Handelsblatt on June 3.

"We must expel <...> the diplomats who are still present here. In addition, it would be necessary to close the Russian House in Berlin and other institutions," the deputy said.

The politician noted an alleged "significant increase in the threat of cyber attacks from state-controlled entities." Kiesewetter also believes that Germany is not sufficiently protected from cyber attacks.

In addition, the MP added that cyber attacks from China, North Korea and Iran have allegedly become more frequent.

The day before, German Foreign Minister Johann Vadeful announced that a new package of sanctions against Russia was being prepared jointly with the United States. He also noted that the first steps towards the introduction of new sanctions have already been taken.
