Investigators have opened a criminal case in connection with the damage to the obelisk "Warrior Liberator" in Mytishchi near Moscow. This was announced on June 3 by the press service of the Main Investigative Directorate (GSU) of the Investigative Committee of Russia (IC RF) in the Moscow region.
It is specified that the video in which a group of minors damaged the monument was posted on social media.
"As a result of the review of the report on the damage to the Warrior Liberator obelisk, a criminal case has been opened under Part 1 of Article 243.4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Damage to monuments and other memorial structures or objects perpetuating the memory of those who died defending the Fatherland or its interests")," follows from the publication of the department in the Telegram channel.
At the moment, law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident and the participants in the incident.
