Residents of Komsomolsk-on-Amur gave more than 19 million rubles to fraudsters

Over the past week, residents of Komsomolsk-on-Amur (Khabarovsk Territory) have given more than 19 million rubles to fraudsters. A criminal case has been opened on each fact.
Five women between the ages of 19 and 84 and three men between the ages of 58 and 72 fell into the scam. During the communication, the scammers presented themselves as employees of banks, law enforcement agencies and various organizations. They urged victims to apply for loans and transfer funds to "secure" accounts or "invest" in profitable projects. This is reported by IA AmurMedia.
The 73-year-old pensioner suffered the most damage. The attackers claimed that a foreign state was allegedly financing her accounts. The woman agreed to transfer more than 12.8 million rubles to "secure cells", half of the amount was issued on credit.
In Moscow, an elderly married couple handed over 15.6 million rubles per month to fraudsters. The scammers convinced the victims that they could lose money if they did not transfer it to "safe" accounts. The couple gave money to couriers.
