In the Sverdlovsk region, Alexey Rozhkov, a 27-year-old resident of Berezovsky, was found guilty of setting fire to a military facility. He was sentenced to 16 years in prison, five of which he will spend in prison, and the remaining term in a high—security colony. This was announced on June 3 by Alexander Shulga, senior Assistant to the head of the Investigative Committee (IC) for the Sverdlovsk region.

"The evidence collected by the authorities <...> was found by the court to be sufficient to convict Alexey Rozhkov, a 27-year—old resident of Berezovsky," he said.

The joint forces of the Investigative Committee and the Federal Security Service for the Sverdlovsk region established that on the night of March 11, 2022, Rozhkov set fire to a military facility in Berezovsky, after which he justified his actions in the broadcast of one of the video programs on the Internet. The man also spread defamatory and false information about Russian military personnel. It is specified that the person involved was hiding from law enforcement agencies abroad. As a result, he was detained and taken to the Sverdlovsk region.

According to the court verdict, Rozhkov was found guilty of committing crimes under Part 1 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code ("Terrorist act"), Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code ("Public calls to carry out terrorist activities, public justification of terrorism or propaganda of terrorism") and Part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code ("Public dissemination of knowingly false information about the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation").

Earlier, on June 2, it was reported that three militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who invaded the Kursk region, were found guilty of committing terrorist acts. They were sentenced to 16 to 17 years in prison.
