A strike group of the army aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) destroyed armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the area of responsibility of the South group of forces. This was announced by the Russian Defense Ministry on June 3.

The ministry noted that the group consisted of the Ka-52m Alligator reconnaissance and attack helicopter, the Mi-28NM Night Hunter attack helicopter and the Mi-8 multipurpose helicopter.

The Russian military attacked the designated coordinates using S-8 missiles, after which they carried out an anti-missile maneuver and returned to the departure airfield.

"A combat strike was carried out at the specified coordinates. As always, they work in pairs with C-8s, with convergences on targets, on enemy manpower," said the commander of the Mi—28 with the call sign Hurricane.

According to him, the enemy has recently begun to use combat unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) more often. He clarified that thanks to special devices that track them, Russian military personnel receive timely information about drones.
