The expert named the grounds for suspending pension payments
There are cases when Russians may have their pensions suspended. Igor Balynin, an associate professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, spoke on June 3 about the situations in which this is possible and for what reasons.
According to the expert, a pension may stop coming if the person for whom it is intended does not come to the post office for it or does not accept money at home for six months.
"If a disabled person fails to appear at the appointed time for a medical and social examination at the federal institution of medical and social expertise, the payment may also be suspended," the expert added in an interview with the Prime agency.
He added that payments for the loss of the breadwinner may also be suspended. Balynin explained that such a situation can occur if a citizen who has reached the age of majority and has graduated from school has not submitted to the Social Fund of Russia a certificate of full-time education at a higher educational institution or a secondary specialized educational institution.
The specialist said that the reason for the termination of social benefits may also be the relocation of a pensioner to another country or the expiration of a residence permit for stateless persons.
At the same time, if a citizen eliminates the circumstances that became the basis for suspending payments, they will be resumed, Balynin summed up.
On May 27, Balynin listed ways to obtain additional individual pension coefficients (IPCs) that will increase retirement. The IPC range is provided for citizens during periods of child care and participation in a special military operation.
