All forest fires have been localized in Yakutia


All forest fires in Yakutia have been localized, and there is no threat to human settlements anymore. This was announced on June 3 by Deputy Minister of Ecology, Nature Management and Forestry of the Republic Andrey Konoplev at a briefing.
Over the past day, four forest fires have been eliminated on the territory of Verkhoyansky, Momsky and Ust-Maysky districts. The total area of the fire was 2,677 hectares. At the beginning of the day, there are six fires on the territory of the republic on an area of 7,795 hectares and two landscape fires on an area of 742 hectares. 161 people and 13 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire.
"Thanks to the effective and coordinated work of the forest fire services, the forces involved from among the local population and favorable weather conditions, all forest fires were localized and there is no threat to settlements," the press service of the regional operations center quoted Konoplev as saying on the Telegram channel.
On May 30, the Ministry of Ecology, Nature Management and Forestry of the Republic of Sakha reported that 13 forest fires were operating in Yakutia, with a total area of over 2.7 thousand hectares. 352 people and 29 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fires.
