The analyst called on Kiev and the West to admit defeat in the Ukrainian conflict

Kiev and its patrons — NATO and the European Union (EU) — must admit defeat in the Ukrainian conflict, former colonel and political analyst Jacques Emile Claude Jean-Francois Ogard told Izvestia on June 2.

"Ukraine must understand that it is not in a position to dictate terms, it has actually lost in this conflict. And it's not the losers who usually dictate the terms, but the winners. Today, the situation is as follows: Ukraine must admit defeat, and, of course, its patrons — NATO and the EU — must also do this," Ogar said.

The politician pointed out that Ukraine has become the object of manipulation by Western countries, and this, in his opinion, leads the country to catastrophic consequences. At the same time, he noted that the participation of the United States could be a possible positive foreign intervention.

Ogar described the talks that took place on June 2 as a "small beginning" of the humanization of contacts between the two countries. In his opinion, further progress towards peace is possible only if reason prevails over emotions and pride.
