More than 100 thousand residents of 150 settlements of the Kherson region were left without electricity as a result of the attack of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the territory of the region. This was announced on June 3 by the governor of the region, Vladimir Saldo.
"150 settlements in Genichesky, Novotroitsk, Ivanovo and Nizhneserogoz districts are without electricity supply. This is more than 104 thousand people and 44 socially significant facilities. All critical facilities are connected to backup power sources," the governor said in a Telegram message.
He clarified that fragments of downed drones damaged a new substation in the Genichesky district of the Kherson region and a substation in the Melitopolsky district of the Zaporizhia region.
It is specified that employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and representatives of the energy sector are working on the site, and restoration of electricity supply schemes has begun promptly. The regional administration receives real-time reports on the situation, Baldo added.
The Governor of the Zaporizhia region, Yevgeny Balitsky, announced on June 2 that the entire Zaporizhia region had been de-energized due to damage to high-voltage equipment as a result of the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacks. He specified that all medical institutions in the region continue to operate at reserve capacities.
