A resident of the Penza region was arrested for cooperating with Ukrainian intelligence

FSB officers have detained a resident of the Penza region who was in contact with Ukrainian intelligence and wanted to join a terrorist organization, and he is currently under arrest. This was reported on June 2 in the press service of the regional directorate of the FSB.

According to the agency, the man, born in 1993, maintained contact with a representative of the main intelligence directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in order to assist the foreign side in activities directed against the security of Russia. Law enforcement officers established that the attacker planned to join a Ukrainian paramilitary organization recognized by the Russian Federation as a terrorist.

It is clarified that a criminal case has been opened against the accused under Article 275.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Cooperation on a confidential basis with a foreign state"), and now the defendant has been arrested.

"Investigative actions and operational search measures are being carried out aimed at documenting additional episodes of illegal activity (of the person under investigation)," the RIA Novosti press service reports.

The press service of the Federal Security Service for the Penza Region reported on May 27 about the detention of a resident of the Penza region, who is suspected of treason. According to investigators, he passed information about the participants of the special military operation (SVO) to the Ukrainian intelligence service.
