The list of 339 children provided by Ukraine will be transferred to the office of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation. This was announced on June 2 by the head of the Russian delegation, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky.

"The entire list will be handed over to the office of the Commissioner for Human Rights," Medinsky said on the Rossiya 1 TV channel.

According to him, Russia will conduct a check on each last name of the child.

"It's not that they are with us <...> We will deal with each of these children. Children are the most important thing. The main thing is that they return home and reunite with their parents," concluded Medinsky.

The second round of talks between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul ended earlier in the day. According to a source in Izvestia, they lasted more than an hour and were broadcast in Russian. According to the source, during the meeting the sides discussed in detail possible prisoner exchanges.

After the talks, Medinsky said that Ukraine and Russia had agreed on the largest exchange of prisoners of war since the beginning of the special military operation, which would include at least 1,000 people on each side. In addition, the Russian side suggested that Ukraine declare a two- or three-day truce in certain sectors of the front to collect the bodies of the dead.

In addition, Medinsky said that during the talks in Istanbul, Russia discussed the topic of children with Ukraine. He added that the Russian side has recently returned 101 children, while the Ukrainian side has returned only 22.
