Russia has offered to return to Ukraine 6 thousand bodies of dead soldiers for reasons of humanity. This was announced on June 2 by the head of the Russian delegation, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky.

"Out of consideration for humanity, we offered to return these bodies to the Ukrainian side so that their families and relatives could give them a Christian burial," Medinsky said.

According to him, Russia has more than 6 thousand bodies of dead Ukrainian servicemen, most of which have been identified. The head of the Russian delegation clarified that he did not know the exact number of bodies held by the Ukrainian side.

The second round of talks between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul ended earlier in the day. According to a source in Izvestia, they lasted more than an hour and were broadcast in Russian. According to the source, during the meeting the sides discussed in detail possible prisoner exchanges.
