During the second round of negotiations in Istanbul, Russia handed over to Ukraine a draft memorandum on a peaceful settlement. This was announced on June 2 by the head of the Russian delegation, Vladimir Medinsky.

"We have submitted our memorandum to the Turkish side, which consists of two parts. The first is how to achieve real long—term peace. And the second part is what steps should be taken to make a full—fledged ceasefire possible," Medinsky said.

According to him, the second part of the memorandum suggests several ways of a possible ceasefire. The head of the Russian delegation stressed that the draft memorandum that the Russian side had submitted to Ukraine was quite detailed and elaborated.

The second round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine ended in Istanbul earlier in the day. The Russian delegation included Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin, Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Igor Kostyukov, Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin. The Ukrainian negotiating group is headed by the country's Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, and its composition has been expanded to 14 people.
