Residents of houses near warehouse buildings that caught fire in Yanino, Leningrad region, felt their health deteriorate. Ekaterina Islamova, an eyewitness, told Izvestia about this on June 2.
"I didn't feel the smell of burning, they felt it only when they started extinguishing, probably already evaporation. There was a slight dizziness and a feeling that we were breathing paint. It's like a veil in the eyes. It's not clear," she explained.
According to the woman, the malaise began 40 minutes after the start of the fire. "That is, blurred vision, some blurry parts," the woman described the condition and added that she had closed all the windows in the house and turned off the ventilation.
A fire in warehouses in the Leningrad region occurred on the afternoon of June 2. It was noted that hangars with paint and varnish products on 800 "squares" were on fire. More than 40 specialists and 10 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire. The fire was later contained.
