- The Ukrainian delegation in Istanbul proposed a new meeting with the Russian Federation from June 20 to June 30.

After the talks with Russia in Istanbul on June 2, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov said that Kiev had offered to hold new talks with the Russian delegation from June 20 to June 30.
In an address following the talks, he noted that the parties had reached agreements on the release of prisoners of war and civilians.
"We have agreed on exchanges. We will inform you about the details soon. First of all, we want to exchange seriously wounded and seriously ill prisoners of war. The second category is young soldiers, all from 18 to 25 years old. We also agreed to the return of the soldiers according to the "6,000 by 6,000" system," he said.
According to Umerov, Kiev believes that all major issues in the negotiations can be resolved only at the level of the leaders of the countries.
Umerov made a statement to the press in English. At the same time, according to Izvestia correspondent Viktor Sineok, the head of the military department of Ukraine completely ignored questions from journalists.
"This is how the press conference of the leader of the Ukrainian delegation is held. Apparently, he is afraid to come close, he says something from afar," the journalist said, having received no response after addressing the speaker.
The second round of talks between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul ended earlier in the day. According to a source in Izvestia, they lasted more than an hour and were broadcast in Russian. According to the source, during the meeting the sides discussed in detail possible prisoner exchanges.
The Russian delegation included Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin, Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Igor Kostyukov, Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin. The Kiev negotiating group is headed by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov, and its composition has been expanded to 14 people.
The first round of negotiations was held on May 16.
