The parties will try to find rapprochement on a number of key issues during the second round of talks between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations in Istanbul. This opinion was expressed on June 2 by Alexey Chepa, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs.

"We are aware of the memorandum that Ukraine has prepared, we will now give them our memorandum, and there will be some discussions on the points of these memoranda in order to find a common rapprochement on a number of key issues," the MP said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .

Earlier in the day, the second round of talks between Russia and Ukraine kicked off at the Chiragan Palace in Istanbul. 360.ru . The meeting was opened by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

The start of negotiations was delayed due to the lateness of the head of the Kiev delegation, Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov, RT clarifies.

The first round of negotiations was held on May 16, NSN reports. According to their results, Russia and Ukraine agreed to present their options for a cease-fire, as well as to exchange prisoners of war in accordance with the "1000 for 1000" formula. As a result, the exchange was completed.
