In the Amur region, 12 people were injured in an accident due to an intoxicated driver.

Twelve people were injured after driving into a ditch and overturning a shift car in the Amur Region. The driver was intoxicated. This was reported on June 2 in the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Amur region.

"It was previously established that on June 1 at 06:20 (00:20 Moscow time) on the Febralsk–Ogodzha technological highway, the driver, driving a Ural car designed to transport shift workers, lost control, drove off the road and overturned," the department wrote on its Telegram channel.

It is reported that as a result of the accident, 12 people received injuries of varying severity, two of whom were hospitalized. According to the Interior Ministry, the driver of the car was intoxicated.

It is specified that upon the incident, investigators have opened a criminal case under the article on violation of traffic rules and operation of vehicles. The driver may face up to seven years in prison.

Earlier that day, it became known that five people, including four minors, were injured in an accident in the Balakhtinsky district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. According to police, the 17-year-old driver of a Nissan Tiana car, driving on the 4th km of the Sharypovo – Uzhur–Balakhta highway, lost control and entered a ditch.
