In Romania, nine people were poisoned by carbon monoxide at a factory
Nine people were poisoned by carbon monoxide and hydrogen sulfide while working at the OMV Petrom oil refinery in Romania. This was reported on June 2 by the online portal Stiri pe surse.
"We are talking about nine employees who were poisoned by carbon monoxide and hydrogen sulfide. All of them are conscious, four of them needed an IV drip, the rest are in stable condition," the article says.
It is reported that a fire truck and ambulances arrived at the scene.
According to the portal, the workers are employees of a company that collaborated under a contract with an oil refinery. It is specified that the victims were poisoned by gas, which was released by their equipment, and not by installations inside the refinery.
On February 27, TWZ reported that the cause of death of American actor and writer Eugene (Gene) Hackman and his wife Betsy Arakawa could be carbon monoxide poisoning.
